Ian Samuels is the founder and managing partner of New System Ventures (“NSV”), a climate tech investment firm that takes a systems-led approach to identify transformative climate solutions to back or build.
Ian is a seasoned investor and operator, with experience from incubating new companies to late stage investing in private equity, credit, and infrastructure. He previously supported the launch of two investment organizations, Nyca Partners (fintech VC) and Sidewalk Infrastructure Partners (venture and infrastructure). During his time at Sidewalk, he led the incubation of Cavnue that raised over $130mm to build tech-enabled road infrastructure for automated vehicles. Previously, he was an investor at Centerbridge Partners (PE & credit), and served in the Obama administration at the U.S. Treasury Department working on key policy areas such as financial crisis response and cleantech financing.
