Himanshu is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of GiantLeap Capital. He has held many roles including an entrepreneur, investor, and startup founder, and has more than 20 years of investing experience across technology and tech-enabled industries.
Prior to starting GiantLeap, Himanshu was Vice President and Head of Strategy and Business Development at Siris Capital, a technology focused private equity firm with $5.9 billion in AUM. He built Siris’ thematic approach to deal sourcing and its investing playbook with 25+ investment themes. These themes drove the firm’s strategy, fund raising, and investment pipeline. Himanshu was instrumental in acquisitions such as EFI, Intralinks, Polycom and exits of Stratus, Intralinks, and Polycom. He also led “business development as a service” to portfolio companies and engaged as a board advisor focusing on value creation and exit optionality.
Prior to Siris Capital, Himanshu led the development and execution of acquisition strategies for IBM Watson, the firm’s AI initiative. He was instrumental in leading Watson’s acquisition and strategic partnership roadmap, growing the platform with data and artificial intelligence acquisitions. Prior to Watson, Himanshu led acquisitions including Explorys, AlchemyAPI, Tealeaf, I2 Technologies, emptoris, and softlayer across companies within IBM’s Industry Solutions group.
He started his career as an entrepreneur in 2002 when he founded a mobile-first technology start-up based in the South of France.
Himanshu received an MBA from Columbia University and a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
