Bill Curtin is a partner at Sidley Austin LLP. Focusing his practice on restructuring, bankruptcy litigation and other insolvency-related matters, Bill represents debtors, creditor constituencies, distressed investors and sponsors. He regularly provides strategic advice to management teams and boards of directors regarding financially distressed situations.

Prior to Sidley, Bill spent over a decade in the United States Department of Justice’s Office of the United States Trustee. During his tenure, he represented the United States Trustee in over 500 chapter 11 cases and 150 contested hearings.

Prior to joining the Department of Justice, Bill served in the United States Army JAG Corps working as a defense counsel and trying jury and bench trials to verdict in eight states and three countries. Bill served a one-year tour in Iraq and has been awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Combat Action Badge.

Bill serves on the ABI Task Force on Veterans and Servicemembers Affairs.
