Vir is a General Partner of The Fund India (Everywhere Ventures) based in New York City. Previously, he co-founded Babajob.com in Bangalore, India and built that into the largest blue collar hiring platform in India at the time, enabling over 1 million job seekers to find better jobs. The investors in Babajob included Vinod Khosla and Seek Ltd., and the company was acquired by Quikr. Post acquisition, he served as a Director of International Strategy at Recruit Holdings / Indeed focused on global and India inorganic strategy and investments. He is an active early-stage investor and has invested in over 25 companies largely in the future of work and along the US-India corridor. He is a Venture Partner at Inventum Ventures (Tokyo), serves on the board of Tumble Media, a pioneering children's educational audio company, and is on the Investment Committee of Fast Forward Ventures, a leading African venture accelerator based out of Lagos and San Francisco.
